Our Story

Luster & Gray is born out of the search for beautiful and mindful jewelry pieces. This led us to pearls. Unlike other precious gems, pearls are organic. Oysters also need pristine waters to produce high-quality pearls.  Communities that harvest pearls naturally care for the environment where pearl-producing oysters thrive.

Luster & Gray distributes natural and cultured pearl jewelry from the islands of Palawan in South East Asia.  The pieces are sourced exclusively from micro-enterprises and small pearl farmers.
No two pieces are exactly alike.  Each pearl is unique and, at times, uniquely flawed.  All the pieces of jewelry are handmade, mostly by women artisans.

There are limited quantities available for each design.  Make one yours today and proudly wear our story.

Our  Commitment

People

Luster & Gray pieces are not mass produced in large farms and factories.  The pieces are handpicked and handcrafted by small community residents and local artisans, many of them women.

Environment

Limestone cliffs, underground rivers and rich in biodiversity and marine life, Palawan is among the most beautiful islands in the world.

Read about it here.

The Philippines is protecting this last ecological frontier with various efforts including capping tourism and ensuring that pearl farming is done sustainably.

Giving Back

We pledge at least 2% of our annual profits to be funneled to efforts supporting primary education in rural communities in Palawan and Mindanao.  With each purchase of Luster & Gray jewelry, you help give children in these areas a chance to have a better life with education.
